Public Works General Information

Programs & Services Provided by Public Works

The Public Works Department works Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. and during emergencies. It consists of 9 full-time employees and the Public Works Director. The department is responsible for the maintenance and repair of Township roads including snow and ice removal. During a snowfall, priority is given to school bus routes, main streets, hills and intersections. Residents are asked not to blow snow from driveways into the streets and to park their vehicles in their driveways. Vehicles parked on the streets impede snow removal. Considerable tax dollars and personnel hours are devoted to snow and ice control to insure the safety of motorists and to provide access for police and emergency vehicles.

The Public Works Department maintains traffic signs as well as street markings such as school walks and cross walks. Traffic sign vandalism is costly to the taxpayer because replacement is labor intensive and signs are expensive. If you are aware of vandalism, please report it to the Township.

The Public Works Department maintains the Township’s sewer and storm water systems and also maintains all Township parks and recreation areas.

Public Works Employees includes Director of Public Works, Aaron Laughlin, along with nine (9) other employees: Shawn Corey, Dwaine Fine, Ronald Franko, Leo Gigliotti, Roman Glemba, Keith Palen, Garrett Scheerer, Richard Sheppick, and Ross Taylor.
